An earthquake has struck Myanmar. The magnitude of the earthquake was recorded as 7.2 on the Richter scale, the National Center for Seismology said in a recent statement. Photos and videos of people running out onto the streets after the earthquake hit are going viral on social media. Videos of buildings shaking due to the intensity of the earthquake, water gushing from a swimming pool in a building, and buildings moving while people were eating in a hotel are also making waves on the internet. Earthquakes are not new to Myanmar. Earlier this month, the earth shook there too. At that time, the National Center for Seismology said that the epicenter of the earthquake was detected 125 kilometers away.

According to a statement by the Indian Ministry of External Affairs, an IAF C 130J aircraft left AFS Hindon with relief supplies. The relief supplies include tents, sleeping bags, blankets, ready-to-eat meals, water purifiers, hygiene kits, solar lamps, generator sets and other essential items. India has taken immediate steps to continue relief efforts in Myanmar.

Myanmar situation

Myanmar authorities said 144 people had died. 732 were injured, and the death toll was expected to exceed 1,000. 96 people died in the capital, Naypyitaw, 18 in Sagaing, and 30 in Kyauktaw. A total of one694 in Myanmar alonePeople died. Of the injured, 432 were from the capital, and 300 were injured in Sagaing. Hundreds of buildings were damaged.

8 people were killed and 9 others were injured in Bangkok. More than 100 people were missing after a high-rise building under construction collapsed.
